WELCOME TO SCHERMAR'S AVIARY!! DON'T FORGET TO CHECKOUT OUR NURSERY...!!!

 Hand Fed Baby Birds

Hello, we are glad you came. Scheryl and I have been raising birds together now for about ten years. I raised about 15 years before that, back when you had to make all your own hand feeding food. We love our birds, and enjoy the time we get to spend with them. We pull our babies at about two weeks of age and start hand-feeding them. That way they make a good pet for you and are more forgiving. We are a small aviary that produce a small quantity of high quality babies.

Jendays make a real nice pet Jendaya's Conures (Aratinga Jandaya) in the nursery. We pull our Jenday's at about two weeks old from the nest box and start hand-feeding them, they take about 12 weeks to wean, but have fed them up to 20 weeks old. We don't force wean Jenday's can get loud any of our birds. The ones that take the longest to wean make the best pets. Jenday's are big clowns, they love to play tricks and learn to repeat a few words. They have much to recommend them in terms of inquisitiveness and they often possess a high degree of intelligence, with a lot of character. There biggest drawback is they can be loud.

Parrotlets are South American's counterpart to the African Love Bird
Green Rumped Parrotlets (Forpus Passerinus Viridissimus) Know by most as Pocket Parrots. The little Parrots are know as the smallest Parrots in the world only 4 to 4.5 inchs total size. They are not as colorful as a lot of Parrots, but they are packed with a lot of character and make a great hands-on pet. Some do learn to say a few words. These tiny living jewels are lovely little birds from the arid tropical zones of western South America. We have pairs for sale at this time.

Cockatiels can be housed with smaller birds like Finch, but not Budgies Cockatiels (Nymphicus Hollandicus) are one of the most popular pet of the parrot family except for the budgie, and is a well deserved popularity. Cockatiels are in the same family as Cockatoo's. No bird could be more highly recommended than a Cockatiel. They are native of Australia, with a long slender body, with and overall length of twelve inches, half of which is a long, pointed, tapering, tail. They are very affection, and displays a gentleness which makes them so popular. Cockatiels have been housed with smaller birds like Finch and Canaries.

Goffin's are real neat birds to have

GOFFIN'S COCKATOO

(Kakatoe sanguinea goffini)

This bird makes the best pet as with most Cockatoo's. They relish the attention of admiring humans. Exceptionally intelligent and are great clowns.
